We Were Here Tomorrow Wire Puzzle: Open the Door

Solve the Gravitonics wire puzzle in We Were Here Tomorrow by tracing door cables, coordinating both tools, and restoring any inactive door indicator.

Trace the door cables and keep every indicator active

Trace each colored cable backward from the Gravitonics exit door, then keep its linked mechanism engaged until every door indicator is active together. The Goop Gun explorer leaves a cube on the relevant pressure plate while the Hook Gun explorer pulls or positions the distant linked targets.

Identify the Gravitonics wire door

This wire-door puzzle is in the Gravitonics Department during the Exotic Matter Laboratory section. Its colored wires lead from the locked door back to local switches and targets. Start with those physical connections to identify the mechanisms controlling the door.

The later R&D generator network uses Greek-letter terminals, staged power routes, and colored access doors. Its terminal sequence belongs to a separate puzzle. If that is the machinery in front of you, follow the Routing Power guide.

Divide the mechanisms between your tools

Assign each connection according to the mechanism at the cable's far end. The Goop Gun explorer handles the relevant pressure plate with a cube, while the Hook Gun explorer handles targets that need pulling or positioning at a distance. Agree on which door indicator each partner is working toward so you can check the result together.

Follow the connections to open the door

Inspect the locked exit door's indicators. Identify a dark light so you know which connection still needs attention.
Follow that indicator's colored cable backward from the door to its linked mechanism. The cable identifies the switch or target responsible for that requirement.
Have the Goop Gun explorer leave a cube on the relevant pressure plate. Keep the cube in place while your partner completes the other connections.
Have the Hook Gun explorer pull or position the distant linked target. Maintain the required engagement while the cube-operated requirement remains active.
Trace any remaining inactive indicator's cable to its controlling mechanism. Continue completing the linked requirements until every door indicator stays active together.
Check the exit door with all its indicators active together. The completed requirements open the doorway so you and your partner can continue.

Find the missing requirement when the door stays shut

If a connection succeeds but the door remains locked, check which individual indicator is still dark. Follow its cable back to the associated mechanism and verify that it remains engaged. Ask your partner to maintain the other requirements while you correct that connection.

Check the cube placement: the goop cube must remain on the relevant pressure plate while the other door mechanisms are being handled.
Check the Hook Gun mechanism: verify that the linked target remains engaged while your partner maintains the pressure-plate requirement.
Check the indicators together: completing the connections separately is insufficient if their requirements are no longer active at the same time.
Check that you are following the local door cables. The Greek-letter server sequence from the later R&D network does not solve the Gravitonics wire door.
