Full-Game Access and the Friend Pass

For full-game co-op in We Were Here Tomorrow, plan on each player having access to their own copy; players report that this release has no Friend Pass. Invite your partner through Invite a Friend from the game menu, or create a public lobby for them to join.

The Steam Friend Pass discussion reports no pass for this release. Arrange full-game access for your partner before choosing optional extras or starting your lobby setup.

02

Choose the Full Game and Prepare Your Equipment

Choose the paid full game for your adventure together. The separate demo covered the opening area of the Norček facility and its initial assignments. Check the exact game name with your partner before buying or launching: every We Were Here series entry is a standalone online co-op adventure.

The Fan Edition includes the soundtrack, Digital Artbook and exclusive wallpapers. Choose it if you want those extras, and keep your partner's full-game access in your purchase plan.

Both players need an internet connection and a working PC-compatible microphone. Steam lists Windows support, and the developer names Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as crossplay platforms. Agree on the platforms you will use before choosing how to connect.

Invite Your Partner From the Game Menu

  1. Open the game menu to reach the invitation options for your session.
  2. Select Invite a Friend to open the available friend list.
  3. Choose your partner from that list to send them an invitation.
  4. Have your partner accept the invitation to join your lobby.

For a known partner, the studio recommends Invite a Friend over Create a Room when troubleshooting invitations. Across platforms, use the invitation and lobby options available inside the game. A Steam friend invitation should not be assumed to reach a console account directly.

04

Use a Public Lobby as an Alternative

  1. Create a public lobby through the game's lobby options so your partner has a session to join.
  2. Have your partner join the public lobby you created to bring you into the same session.
05

When Your Partner Cannot Join

  1. Check online multiplayer access on each account to identify an account restriction that could prevent joining.
  2. Review account privacy settings where available to check whether they restrict multiplayer access or invitations.
  3. Review crossplay settings where available when your partner uses a different platform, checking for a restriction on connecting across platforms.
  4. Check the stability of each player's internet connection to identify connection trouble before another joining attempt.
  5. Install the latest available game update on each player's system so your next attempt includes the available fixes.
  6. Switch the host so your partner creates the session and sends the invitation; changing who hosts can help a failed connection.

Check Microphones and Voice Chat

If you reach the same lobby but cannot hear each other, check microphone setup before starting the adventure. Communication matters because you will often be separated and need to describe what you see through your walkie-talkies. Have each partner check their own input device.

  1. Check the system-default microphone to make sure the intended input device is selected.
  2. Check the in-game microphone selection to make sure voice chat uses the device you intend.
  3. Temporarily disable interfering USB or controller software to check whether it is affecting voice chat or invitations.
  4. Review firewall restrictions affecting the game to identify a connection that may be blocked.
